Guide Services with Professional Angler Jay Brainard

Jay Brainard has been fishing professionally since 2012. He was able to win Angler of the Year his rookie year on the Bassmaster Opens and has competed on the Bassmaster Elite Series for two years.

Between tournaments and during the off-season Jay guides on Mille Lacs and surrounding lakes in Minnesota. Mille Lacs was ranked the number one bass fishing lake in the United States by Bassmaster Magazine in 2017. The lake has an incredible population of trophy smallmouth bass with 4-7 pound fish caught on most trips.

During the 2017 guide season Jay’s clients were catching over 20 fish, personal best for both clients and the top 5 bass weighing over 20 pounds 75% of the time! This is including 4 hour trips!

Having experience fishing all over the United States for smallmouth and largemouth allows Jay to also guide on the many smaller lakes in the area. These lakes are overlooked by both local fishermen and tourists. This has allowed the largemouth to grow very large for northern waters. Fish over 5 pounds are regular and numbers can be crazy! Some days produce over 100 fish!

Jay also offers an Advanced Angler Class that caters to anglers who want to take their fishing skills to the next level. These trips are offered on any lake in the United States. This class covers but is not limited to seasonal patterns, lure presentation, line selection, reading your electronics, boat positioning and casting techniques.  Contact Jay for additional details and pricing.
